Having owned a construction company, sending the crew home because the building foundation excavation is flooded is Not an option. I spent money to buy quality equipment because equipment failure cost me many more times the cost of the equipment. If that is you, consider getting the No products found.
I provide you with 2 inch sump pump choices for the basement, construction sites, yards, pools, spas and more. These sump pumps have a maximum 2 inch diameter discharge pipe/hose size. Which is a bit unusual because most sump pumps come with a 1.5 inch discharge fitting.
I also provide a selection of 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, and 1 HP sump pumps. Use the comparison table to find the pumping capacity you need at the lift height you expect to use the pump for.
The next important feature is the the depth of water that the sump pumps starts at and pumps down to. Again, that is in the comparison table.
A 2 inch sump pump used in the basement drain tile sump basin is designed to leave water in the sump basin. That helps to keep the motor cool and to avoid sucking up dirt, toys, etc.
However, in your spa, pool or hot tub you want to remove All of the water. So, you would want the No products found. that drains water down to 1/16 inch.
This article is Not about effluent, sewage, or grinder pumps that commonly have a 2 inch discharge size. If you need an effluent sump pump check out my article: Zoeller M98 Sump Pump Review 1/2 HP Effluent and Dewatering

I like the Superior Pump company products. They are well made and offer good value for the money. These sump pumps come with a 3 year warranty instead of the industry standard 1 year warranty.
These sump pumps are designed for use in a basement sump pit basin. Obviously they can be used for other purposes. Such as partially draining pools or even for operating continuosly running garden features.
Their biggest drawback is that they only drain water down to 1 inch. Which means they are not suitable for use in yard puddles or widow wells like the Smarbot sump pump that pumps down to 1/16 inch.
The Multiquip Bon Submersible 2 Inch Sump Pump
Although this is a manualy operated sump pump it is exteremely dependable under the worst conditions. Meaning it will pump sand and muddy water. Which is why many construction companies use it.
However, it would be a good idea to put the pump into a bucket with holes drilled into it to filter out leaves and bigger stuff.
Also, the 25 foot power cord enables it to be lowered into deep construction site pits to drain very dirty water.
It will pump out water down to a 1/2 inch depth if it is sitting on a flat surface. So, if you need to slide it into an excavation pit, your results will be different.

Smartbot 1/2 HP Utility Sump Pump
I have not used this 2 inch sump pump. I included it because it provides a budget priced pump that is suitable for many uses around the home.
It is particularly useful for draining spas, pools, hot tubs, or a wet basement, because it drains water down to 1/16 inch.
However, it is not designed for use with chemically treated pool water. So, if that is how you use it, be sure to run clean chemical free water through the pump to flush it out before storage. Also, don’t expect it to last as long as it would otherwise.
One way to get around this problem is to not treat your pool water for several days and then test the water before using the 2 inch sump pump.
Also, the Smartbot will only pass objects up to 3/16 inch in size. So, if you are using it to drain a puddle in the yard or a pond, wrap it in some No products found. or weed barrier landscape fabric.

Red Lion RL50CON 1/2 HP Manual Sump Pump
This is another heavy-duty contractor-grade submersible sump pump. Use it anywhere it’s needed. Such as construction excavation sites, ditches, ponds, flooded basements, and more.
This 2 inch sump pump weighs 24.8 pounds which is nearly 8 pounds less than the Multiquip Bon submersible pump that weighs 32.7 pounds. Since I am not a very big guy, I don’t like carrying around more weight than necessary. If that sounds like you maybe you should No products found.
